3 February festivals to attend in Bunbury

By Kevin Kelly

We're already halfway through summer, but there are still more exciting events for the season to bring. Real estate owners in Bunbury can look forward to many a February festival: here are three that you should check out.

Bunbury Beer and Cider Festival (Feb 24-25)

For lovers of brews, there is no better event than the Beer and Cider festival. Held at Koombana Bay, over 50 different kinds craft beers and ciders will be available for your tasting pleasure, as well as tasty standards like Malibu Pina Coladas, Captain Morgan rum, Jack Daniels whiskey and Willow Bridge Wine. It's not just the drinks either; a selection of local favourites including Uncle Sam's Smoke House and Nibblez Food Van will be providing all the edible treats you could desire.

Live by the Bay festival is being incorporated into the Beer and Cider festival this year – listen out for some of Perth's best bands like Spacey Jane, Almond Soy and The Spring Peaks.

South West Multicultural Festival (Feb 24)

Previously run as the Multicultural night under the stars, the event has grown into an entire day's activities and shows that attracts over 5,000 people. Free to the public, the event celebrates the multiculturalism that can be found in the southwest of the country.

During the day you'll be able to watch demonstrations and performances, view art and craft displays, participate in workshops and purchase food and drink from local stalls. In the evening comes the dance and the music that the night under the stars event was known for.

Bunbury Fringe Festival(Feb 16-24)

The Bunbury Fringe Festival might be the highlight of the summer calendar. Held over eight days, there is a lot to see and do.

Check out the fringe garden, a free outdoor setting that will feature local live music, food trucks and more. It'll be open on Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Friday 23, from 5 pm until late.

The festival will culminate with the Fringe Finale party @ BRAG, an event that'll see the opening of the South West Art Now show. There'll also be $12 jam-jar cocktails, snacks, live entertainment (like live mural painting) and more.
