4 ways to entertain the kids in Bunbury these school holidays

By Kevin Kelly

School holidays are upon us, and the kids are about to be home all day every day for close to a month and a half. It's a brilliant time of year for family fun, however, sometimes even the most dedicated parents need a helping hand entertaining the little ones.

Luckily Bunbury is so family friendly, and there's plenty going on to to keep the kids occupied. Here are four of our favourite kids activities for these school holidays.

Fun holiday care at the Southwest Sport Centre

For a day off from the kids these holidays pop down to Southwest Sport Centre and let your wee ones enjoy their famously fun holiday care program. Its aim is to encourage your child's development skills through a wide range of activities, in a safe, caring and fun environment.

Primary age children (5-12) are welcome and the program runs throughout the holidays.

Enjoy a visit to the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre

Get the kids away from the TV screen for a day and let them experience the fascinating history at the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre. It's widely recognised as one of the most exciting heritage projects in the South West of Western Australia.

The museum features contemporary exhibitions, revealing the stories behind our little town's development many years ago. The kids will love hearing tales of shipwrecks, early settlers, and all the people who contributed to our city's rich history.

Story time at the Bunbury Library

The Bunbury Public Library is one of the best places to get a little peace and quiet while taking care of the kids these summer holidays. They run a range of school holiday programs and events for parents and kids, from story time to guest speakers and interactive classes.

Check their Facebook page to see what's on, or pop down from Monday to Saturday to keep the kids occupied with a stack of books.

Get in touch with nature at the Dolphin Discovery Centre

Dolphin Discovery has got to be one of the most entertaining things to do in Bunbury over the summer. Unfortunately their school holiday program has been canceled as they redevelop their premises, however, they're still running their famous Dolphin Eco Cruises daily throughout the summer.
