Breakfast in Bunbury: 3 recommendations for your next slice of heaven

By Kevin Kelly

Australians eyeing the property market recently will likely have seen the story of a Brisbane real estate agent offering the incentive of "free avo on toast for a year" with the purchase of their townhouse listing. While an obvious gimmick, the ploy is still quite humorous.

Soon-to-be residents who know the importance of a good breakfast will be pleased to know their new Bunbury property is within a stone's throw of some fantastic cafes.

Cafe 140

140 Victoria Street

Cafe 140 is often mentioned immediately before the phrase "best coffee in Bunbury". From their friendly and passionate staff to the hip decor, this is a delightful eatery on all accounts. The kitchen staff have an accomplished attention to detail – it really is the chef's personal touches that make these dishes sing.

Recommendation: While the artisan granola would be hard to beat for the health-conscious, The Big Plate is the star of the day here. First timers beware: Big is not a frivolous adjective in this context. You have been warned.

Corners on King

2 Austral Parade

Corners on King is a great place to be. Boasting clean and crisp interior design with a great ambience inside and cool outdoor patio area with views of the water, you might be tempted to stay all day. This cafe is by all means a slick operation – Corners on King is almost always busy, but hungry patrons are never left waiting. The extensive all-day breakfast menu, complete with kids options, will have you coming back time and time again.

Recommendation: Corners on King is a wonderland for those with a sweet tooth! Virtually any cake or dessert offered here will be exquisite! Try one of the crazy shakes only if you're prepared to have your mind-blown.

Benesse Espresso Bar

83 Victoria Street

This is the sort of establishment where you overhear things like "I'm from Perth, but this place is worth the drive." Benesse is a smaller cafe with a huge amount of character, featuring some fun throwbacks like colouring books for grown ups (get creative while your food is prepared!) as well as running promos for local events (free passes to Groovin the Moo anyone?). This is a hot spot that is absolutely not to be missed.

Recommendation: The vege stack is a thing to behold, and it's never too late to prove to your mum that you ARE capable of eating all your veggies.

We may not be offering these delectable breakfast options for free with your next Bunbury real estate purchase, but you will find these recommendations worth every cent. Contact our team of experts on all things local if you'd like to taste your own slice of the Bunbury property pie.
