Is there anything worse than the process of parking? First you have to drive around for what feels like forever, peering around for a space that feels like it will never open up. Then finally, when you do spot a car backing out, there's the matter of paying for the parking. Cue the jingle jangle of change as you count coin after coin, desperately hoping you have enough when…you fall five cents short.
Thankfully, thanks to the diligent efforts of the City of Bunbury, anyone living in real estate in Australind, Eaton and surrounding areas can forget this frustrating situation. From 10 August, a new pay-by-phone parking system named PayStay has been introduced across the city, which will make it much easier for commuters and residents to get around.
All one needs to do is download the PayStay app on their smartphone, and register an account with a top up system. When a driver comes upon a parking spot, they simply enter the parking zone number and pick a start time. Drivers can also choose the stop time when they leave the car park or come back to the car, for maximum flexibility. They can even set up SMS reminders for when the time is set to expire.
All of this means the chance of being hit with fines for showing up ten minutes too late for the parking expiry will be a thing of the past, along with the hassle of rushing back to top up your parking – you can simply do it remotely. Included in the ways to pay are through the official website or the app itself.
So if you're driving around real estate in Bunbury and notice your fellow commuters are smiling, you'll know why: They've got their parking sorted.
