Spaced2 compiles the work of 14 contemporary artists from Australia and beyond. Each of the artists has either lived or worked in Western Australia over the last few years, and the focus of the exhibition is the 'collective memory' of WA. The contributors explore the many contrasting narratives of our state's history.
History and community are the cornerstones of this exhibition. The roster of artists used their time in Western Australia to interact with the locals, with the land, as well as existing artistic products of the state. These disparate elements combine to create a series of stunning entries about who we are, where we've been, and where we are going as a community.
Ends June 11
People Like Us also boasts a roster of local and international talent. This exhibition has brought a number of acclaimed new media artists together to present a glimpse of the human condition. The range of works on display at People Like Us cross multiple platforms of media, from film to aural expression to more interactive works involving virtual reality and other new technologies.
Interaction is the name of the game at People Like Us. Visitors will be encouraged to connect with the works by means outside of the traditional visual appreciation. The ultimate goal of this exhibition is to present guests with a glimpse of the human condition through unconventional means.
Ends June 11
