Time for some last minute Christmas shopping in Bunbury?

By Kevin Kelly

With the big day just around the corner, chances are your Christmas shopping might not be far off completion. However, if you're one of those people who likes to leave things until the last minute, then help is at hand.

An extra hour of free parking is being made available at five car parks in the CBD, so you can spend a little longer browsing for the perfect gift. This brings the total number of free spaces to more than 1,000 throughout the festive season.

Gary Brennan, mayor of the City of Bunbury, explained that the region is welcoming more than just those who already live in real estate in Bunbury.

"As well as the extended parking hours, rangers will continually monitor the CBD parking demand in the lead-up to Christmas," he commented.

"There will also be a strong focus on customer service by assisting the public who are unfamiliar with the CBD."

If you are planning on making some final purchases ahead of 25 December, make sure you pick up a map showing where all the free parking spaces are. They're all within walking distance of the main shopping areas, so you won't have far to walk with all those bags!

Counting down to the festive season

There is no shortage of ways to get into the festive spirit if you're living in real estate in Bunbury. Aside from the annual festival and parade, there are also various other events to look forward to.

Local performers are taking part in carol sing-a-longs, while the Wonder Workshop is an interactive digital art exhibition found in the city. There will be plenty of volunteers on hand to point you in the right direction.
