What events are on the horizon for Bunbury?

By Kevin Kelly

The City of Bunbury recently decided on the 24 events that would receive a financial boost via its annual Grant Funding Program. With four new events added, more people are set to visit our magnificent little city – great news for Bunbury real estate owners and renters alike.

Here are some of the funded events gracing Bunbury's calendar in the next year.

Action Sports Games

The Action Sports Games are estimated to attract 10,000 people to the city over the first weekend of March 2018, according to the Bunbury Mail. The Games live up to their name, with a wide variety of spine-tingling sports featured, including wakeboarding, water skiing, BMX, skateboarding and more!

Western Australia's second largest regional event, the games are free to attend and are sure to be a massive hit with Bunbury residents.

Groovin the Moo

This electric music festival first came to Bunbury in 2010 and has been a local favourite ever since. The show attracted some killer talent in 2017 – names like Milky Chance, Dillon Francis and The Darkness all made their presence felt.

Groovin the Moo stands apart from other music festivals in that it prides itself on community engagement. It's not about making money – fun and affordability were the primary founding goals of the festival, according to their website. The dates and lineup for 2018 haven't been announced yet – keep your eyes peeled, as this is an event you won't want to miss.

Bunbury Fringe Festival

The success of 2017's inaugural festival helped Bunbury Fringe secure funding for next year's event. The festival featured a range of acts from musicians and comedians to shows for the kids. It received $60,000 in seed funding for 2018, giving it a chance to grow beyond its humble beginnings.

Highlights of the 2017 festival included 'Wine Bluffs', a show by comedians Damian Callinan and Paul Calleja, and a performance by 'Best Folk Act' of 2016 winner, Lucy Peach. The festival will return in mid-February next year.

With everything that's on, it's sure to be an exciting year for Bunbury. If you're interested in buying, renting or selling in the area, contact the team at Ray White today.
