There are plans in place for the expansion of Bunbury's CBD in the near future. Our city is already a fantastic community hub of culture and inclusiveness, but would a change be for the better?
With all of the developments that the current Bunbury City Council have already proposed that look set to be successes, we think they've probably got some solid footing for further changes. What could that mean for your patch of real estate in Bunbury?
A 7 April media release from the Bunbury City Council has outlined plans for the sale of a piece of land that is currently being used as a car park after an approach by PrimeWest – the owners of the Centrepoint Shopping Centre.
Currently, the land is being leased to the business owners for around $160,000 per year, and Bunbury mayor Gary Brennan is considering all of the city's options.
"We are not saying that we are definitely selling this land, rather we are carrying out due diligence to ensure the city covers all contingencies," he said.
"As with any sale of city land, if council does decide to proceed with the sale of this site then the proposal will be advertised for public comment."
With that in mind, residents of Bunbury have the power to voice their opinion on what they think would be the best way forward for the city. What would you say?
This kind of resident participation is what helps to make this a great city – buyers might soon be flocking in to snap up their own real estate in Bunbury. There are a number of attractive lifestyle options in our beautiful region, and being involved in the decision-making process of the city's future is a big one.
