3 things to think about before buying a holiday home
A holiday home is great for knowing you can get away whenever the urge takes you. However, what should you consider before making an investment?
Bunbury has a great lifestyle, but there are times when anyone living in the city needs to get out and see a bit more of the state. After all, there's a lot to explore in WA, so there's no excuse not to get out and explore it!
So, no matter if you've just moved into your first place in the Bunbury area, or you're a born-and-bred local looking for a break, here are three weekends away:
The Margaret River area is a crowd favourite with both locals and tourists, boasting some of the finest wines this side of the Barossa. As well as wine, the area is home to a wide range of craft brewing, Bootleg Brewery in Wilyabrup even plays host to the South West Mudfest, if you don't mind packing a space change of clothes.
If wine and beer aren't your thing, the south west can be worth the visit. Go at the right time and you can head to the coast for a spot of whale watching or, if you're a land-lubber, stick to the shore and enjoy the region's beautiful beaches.
If you don't mind roughing it a little and want to really experience WA's great outdoors, try heading in-land to one of WA's many state forests and national parks. Many of the camping facilities like Stockton Lake (formed from a filled-in mine) and Glen Mervyn Dam give you a chance to get into Australia's more scenic side, as long as you don't mind pitching a tent.
From many of the campsites in the area you'll be able to enjoy scenic walks, water sports or even just a spot of star-gazing.
While Bunbury has been dubbed WA's second capital, it's hard to beat the original if you want a proper weekend in the big city. If you're after shopping, try check out the Fremantle markets or, if you prefer your shopping more air-conditioned, try any of the CBD's shopping malls.
Once you're worn out from a day's shopping, there are plenty of bars and clubs to enjoy into the night, especially in areas like Yagan Square.
Of course, once you've finished your weekend away, you'll probably be reminded that there's really no place like home. If you need help finding real estate in Bunbury, just contact the team at Ray White Bunbury.
