Local art-lovers in Bunbury can enjoy the sights of works from Western Australian artists, after the City of Bunbury announced it will display its art collection at the St John of God Hospital.
This could be great news for owners of real estate in Bunbury South, Bunbury East and all the surrounding suburbs to take some time out and appreciate the ability and skill of the work of local artists.
Arts and Culture Team Leader Helena Sahm said the decision was made in order to provide everyone in the area with a chance to see the pieces.
"This was important to the City as it provides benefits to all in the community and maximises the access the people of Bunbury and the region have to the collection," said Ms Sahm in a February 24 statement.
The decisions about what pieces would be included in the display were made by Art Collection curator Caroline Lunel. There is a wide variety of pieces available for viewing, including works by artists like Bob Booth, Phil Hansen, lance Chadd, Jason Benjamin and Sam Harris.
"The diversity of works and the span of art periods and styles make it a very significant regional art collection," said Ms Lunel in a February 24 statement.
