Bunbury residents to benefit from 2014-15 budget

By Kevin Kelly

Bunbury residents will notice a number of improvements to their local community in the coming months and years, thanks to the newly announced 2014-15 budget.

The budget, which was adopted on July 31, has earmarked funding for a number of initiatives to make the city an even better place to live.

Municipal budgets are an important consideration for anyone considering a property purchase, as they give potential residents a sense of a community's priorities and values. If you're thinking about buying real estate in Bunbury, local funding has been distributed to a variety of different local initiatives.

If you happen to be a sports fan, you will be pleased to know that $4.2 million has been allocated in the upcoming financial year for a new multi-purpose sports pavillion, which will be home to the Hay Park South regional soccer and rugby teams.

A further $527,000 has been pledged to finance upgrades to the Bunbury Airport, improving the facilities for travellers and residents alike.

Other funding will be allocated to the maintenance of playground equipment, drainage maintenance, community sports courts, and the initial design and construction phases of an incident control centre and headquarters for the local SES.
