You might know Bunbury as your home or your workplace, where your kids go to school or maybe even where you might settle down one of these days when you buy a house. Soon, you might know it as something different: creative.
Bunbury's Creative City Strategy had its consultation plan endorsed by the city council on July 23, taking it one step closer to reality. If the plan succeeds in eventually being enacted, it stands to make purchasing real estate in Bunbury a hot topic around the state.
The plan lays out a vision for innovation, imagination and production in the realm of culture, the arts and other creative business ventures within the city. It was envisaged in November last year in a public forum. Who said democracy never works?
Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan was excited about the strategy.
"The strategy when put into practise will allow for the city to become a creative and vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike," said in a July 23 release.
"It will provide scope for a wide and varied array of projects in the CBD and surrounds as well as help forge the City's identity as the cultural centre of the South West."
It may well be time to get in touch with a real estate agent in the area.
