If you are thinking about making a Bunbury real estate purchase, one appealing element of the city is its commitment to a thriving arts and culture scene.
Beginning this week (28 August), the City of Bunbury is calling on local contemporary artists to submit their work to the 2015 Bunbury Biennale.
The state-wide contemporary art event has been hosted in Bunbury since 1993 and is the second-oldest Biennale of its kind in the country.
Bunbury Regional Art Galleries will play host to the event, which is scheduled to take place between 13 June and 9 August next year. It is home to the City of Bunbury art collection, which is the second-largest in the state after the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
"We hope 2015 will be the full of challenging and dynamic works, making it the best Biennale yet, said Julian Bowron, director at the galleries.
He added: "The exhibition has long been a highlight on the arts calendar and we look forward to this opportunity to see what is happening at the forefront of WA contemporary art."
All contemporary artists working in a broad range of forms – including installation artworks, new media, and two- and three-dimensional art – are encouraged to apply. Entries for the event will remain open until 7 November, 2014.
