Taking a stroll through the city centre is something you're often likely to do while living in real estate in Bunbury, and you could soon find there's a more colourful atmosphere than usual.
The City of Bunbury is encouraging local businesses to invest in flowers and plants to make the streets a brighter place and make it more appealing to locals and visitors alike.
Seedlings will be provided by the council, but it's down to the individual companies to nurture them and make sure the plants are able to thrive.
"My vision is to see a blaze of annuals flowering down Victoria Street which will be inviting and hopefully a talking point for visitors to the CBD," said Bunbury mayor Gary Brennan.
"This simple project will inject vibrancy into Bunbury and the whole community will reap the rewards."
Officers from the City of Bunbury will be on hand to give advice on how to care for flowers and it's hoped the initiative will catch on well beyond the CBD.
Mr Brennan was inspired by a recent trip to Europe, on which he encountered a number of cities where flowers had made a real difference to the look and feel of the streets.
