The annual Bunbury Christmas parade is a highlight for many living in Bunbury rentals, but one local believes there is potential for it to draw in crowds from elsewhere.
With the right backing, Bunbury resident Daniel Graham thinks the parade could be one of the biggest festive events of its kind.
This year, Mr Graham created a Santa's workshop in his own backyard, which was widely regarded as the standout float at the 2013 parade.
Speaking to the Bunbury Mail, he explained that with a little extra effort, the event could bring hundreds of extra people into the city each year.
"I would always come down to the parade every year with the kids and it was mostly trucks and trailers with streamers and bits of cardboard stuck on," he noted.
"I think if Bunbury groups could lift their game and lift the standard of the event it could become a real tourism drawcard."
A number of festivities are held in Bunbury in the run up to Christmas, including the City of Bunbury's ever popular Christmas Carnival that was held on December 1 this year.
The family-friendly event included face painting and pony rides, as well as musical and cabaret performances.
