Inspiration for your redecoration

By Kevin Kelly

Taking on the job of redecorating your home can be a tough job – especially when you don't know where to start. There's so much to love about the real estate in Bunbury and Australind that once you're in a piece of land of your own, you won't want to just pack up and leave, but change up your style to grow as you do!

This could be as simple as swapping out old furniture for modern, exciting concepts, or even completely repainting. Whatever you decide needs doing around the home, do it right the first time and you'll love every second you spend living in it.

1) Choosing a new colour scheme

When you've got it set in your head that something drastic needs to change around the home, colour is so often the first thing to go.

Houzz suggests choosing a paint or colour scheme that you're comfortable with – be a little bit eccentric based on your own tastes, not others', and you might find that you create the sort of space you only see in magazines.

Choosing neutral furniture will allow you to throw all sorts of colourful accessories around a room, so that's an easy way to bring life to any part of your home.

2) Adding a modern twist

Houzz recently attended the Denfair design show in Melbourne, and noted some of the most fabulous trends from that. These included using dark tones to contrast with lighter colours, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms spaces. This might come in the form of a dark wooden bench top and a pale wall colour, or even blacked-out tap fittings and window frames.

Throwing a little timber into the mix is also a grand idea – it'll help to bring a touch of nature inside, which will create more of an indoor/outdoor flow for your entertaining needs.

No matter what you decide to change about the design of your home, be bold! Get in touch with Ray White Bunbury to discuss even more design principles that could work for your new real estate.
