The city of Bunbury is a vibrant place with plenty of modern potential – and a recent commitment from the Bunbury City Council to move some of its public works into a brand-new, purpose-built office space is only exemplifying that progression.
Bunbury real estate has been growing and growing on the back of recent developments and positive decisions, particularly around Bunbury East as Koombana Drive is essentially being completely revamped.
As the council becomes more and more modern, it could be the perfect time to get into your very own patch of land filled with the promise of looking to the future. You'll at least be living in this great city, and that's a fabulous start to keeping up with the times.
Both the Works and Services and the Waste departments will find themselves at home in the new depot, situated in Picton. It's expected that the building will be completed in 18 months, so the council can focus on upgrading facilities elsewhere before and after this time.
"We need to provide the best facilities for our employees to ensure they can continue to carry out their jobs effectively and efficiently," said Bunbury mayor Gary Brennan in a 20 June media release.
"I am confident this decision by council to purchase a dedicated site and build a depot specific to our needs is the right way forward."
Regarding the current plot that these two departments are operating from, Mr Brennan stated that the land will be turned into housing to keep up with demand around the city.
"This land is ideal to be redeveloped for affordable housing and the City will look to include the area known as The Stables in this process."
