New affordable Bunbury properties show growing demand for local real estate

By Kevin Kelly

A local community needs to accommodate for the expected growth of population through the implementation of housing initiatives and providing investors with incentives to buy and build in the area.

Leading by example, the Western Australian government recently announced plans to build 10 new homes in Bunbury, which aim to provide accommodation nearby to both public transportation utilities and the region's Edith Cowan University campus.

This could be great news for buyers looking into the possibility of investing in real estate in Bunbury. As housing options grow in the region, the popularity of the area could continue to prosper – making it a great place to consider investment.

Housing minister Colin Holt said the developments in Carey Park were a part of the National Rental Affordability Scheme, which aims to help provide housing for families with low to moderate incomes across Australia.

"This type of housing is in high demand in the Bunbury region. The benefit is that these units can be rented on the private market at 20 per cent below the market rent to households meeting the income eligibility criteria," said Mr Holt in a 15 May statement.

Be sure to get in touch with a local real estate agent in Bunbury today to start investigating the property options available in the community.
