Christmas shopping can be a stressful experience at the best of times, but struggling to find a parking space – or spending over the odds in car parks – is something most people are keen to avoid.
Anyone occupying houses to rent in Bunbury, however, should find that this isn't a problem this year, as efforts are made to improve parking throughout the city.
The City of Bunbury has announced that the free limit time at visitor car parks in the CBD has been extended from two to three hours.
The changes are already in effect and will run until after Christmas, which is likely to come as good news for anyone who has last-minute gift buying to do or simply feels like browsing the stores.
City of Bunbury mayor Gary Brennan said large numbers of shoppers are expected over the coming weeks, so steps are already being taken to ensure they can be accommodated.
As well as the extended parking hours, rangers will continually monitor the CBD parking demand in the lead-up to Christmas and if needed, parking will be permitted on the grassed area next to the Blair Street (foreshore) car park," he commented.
