What to do in Bunbury this weekend (14th October)

By Kevin Kelly

Bunbury is a great little city. Every weekend you can be sure that there'll be something interesting going on, which is one of many reasons to look for houses to rent in Bunbury. Here are some of the top events and attractions you should catch this weekend.

Collie Adventure Race

The Collie Adventure Race is a multi-discipline event held in the Collie River Valley. The start and finish are both located on the banks of the glistening Minninup Pool on the Collie River. Saturday's race is the big one: a 10 km canoe, 20 km mountain bike, 1 km swim, 28 km road bike and a 10 km run.

While it's always fun to watch sporting feats, it's not too late to enter yourself. If you're not keen on tackling the whole race on your own, you can enter a team or be placed in one. More details on registration can be found on the event's website.

Free Brass Band Concert

The Salvation Army is celebrating its 125th year in Bunbury with a free concert at the Graham Bricknell Music Shell. There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks for sale, with the proceeds going to The Salvation Army Bunbury's 'Christmas Cheer" appeal. Those wishing to attend are advised to bring their own chairs or picnic blankets.

Woodstock Op Shop Ball

Come along to the Rotary Club of Bunbury Leschenault's Op Shop Ball. This year's theme is "Woodstock" – head to your local op shop to put together a costume that fits the hippie era! A night full of dancing and fun, the ball will start at 6.30 p.m. and end at 11.30 p.m.. Tickets cost $40 and you should bring your own drinks and nibbles. Funds raised will go towards Pathways, Headspace Youth Projects and local Rotary projects.

Collie Clan Gathering

Held at the Wallsend Showgrounds, the Collie Clan gathering will see Scottish folk from all over come together for a day of festivity and fun. The day starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m., with a variety of things to do and see. Market stalls, highland games, medieval re-enactments and a feast of traditional Scottish foods like haggis, BBQ square sausages and pies are just some of the things you won't want to miss.

Bunbury is one of those places where you can never be bored because there's just too much going on! If you're interested in buying real estate in Bunbury, contact the team at Ray White today.
